A Happy [American] Thanksgiving to those south of the border. I'm not sure we actually have anybody from there reading the blog, but if we do, enjoy Turkey-day!
Likewise!
Also, prepare for the second major upshot of Christmas music and commercials tomorrow. At least the Americans get Thanksgiving as a little bit of a buffer to the Christmas season. There have been some years here where the Christmas displays are up as soon as the last pumpkin is torn down after Hallowe’en midnight :)
Never mind - it’s worse than I thought. They started this evening, one K-mart commercial going so far as to actually come out and have a light bulb (with a Santa hat? my memory of it is spotty) say (paraphrasing) “belly full of turkey? great, you’ll want to know about these deals"… with Christmas pasted all over the place.
Felt a little bit like having someone ask you for change after you come out of a store, in that “I know what I want to ask you, but I’m waiting right here for the very second that I can claim it’s appropriate to ask” kind of way.
Ah well :)
