I like the little story behind the Hulk Out List, that Kevin Koster, assistant director of JAG, just passed Kenneth Johnson a list of all the reasons that made Bill Bixby's skin turn green and destroy yet another shirt, but not the pants.
As detailed as it is, I wish it had references. #106, poison sushi?
I guess if I'm ever crazy enough to own the whole series and then also crazy enough to watch it, I'm going to have to have a printout of this list to check these things off :)
’twasn’t a list of ALL the reasons, but it was pretty close.
The story is true.
The “poisoned sushi” bit comes in an episode I believe called “East Winds” guest starring William Windom and directed by Jack McGee himself, Jack Colvin. The story actually takes place in Chinatown, but I clearly remember David reacting badly to the bad fish.
I’ve been suprised and gratified by the amount of people enjoying this list. I did it to amuse myself years ago - I’m glad to know others are having fun with it now.
*laugh* Thanks for the visit!
I seriously enjoyed the list. I watched the Incredible Hulk as a child, and now I just have to think with incredulity: he did what and I didn’t remember how silly that was? Did I ever see, for example, #39? Maybe I did. Maybe something was neurally damaged :)
I worry about how well the series will look with adult eyes (the campy old Battlestar Galactica is still fun… the A-Team is pure self-flagellation for non-ascetic-monks), but at least they gave us two unforgettable things: “You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry", and the marvellous walking-away theme :)
