So how's that prediction going, Dena?

They've been awfully quiet over in Annandland. I'm suspicious that there may be great evil brewing... :)

We do have a “last ditch date” as of today… :)

I had an OB appointment, the baby’s head is engaged (and trust me, I can feel him headbutting my cervix from the inside), but things still aren’t ready yet.

I will have *another* ultrasound on Thursday (number seven - to check out baby’s size… I bet the estimate is now past the 10 lb mark) and then *another* OB appointment the same day.

If things don’t proceed on their own by the 19th (11 days past the estimated due date), then I will be going to the hospital for a cervical induction. (This does not involve directly inducing the uterus into contractions, rather it is the internal application of hormones to help ripen the cervix so that it thins and dilates, and then the body follows naturally with its own contractions. …at least, that is how the doctor was describing it to me!)

Frankly, at 11 days post-EDD (estimated due date), I think that the race between nature and medical intervention will be a dead heat! ;)

…my BP has been a bit wonky in the last month, hence my willingness to go along with this…

One whole month?!? Eek!

But ultrasound 7 came back with a new weight estimate of 11 lbs, 7 oz (+/- 1.5 lbs, hopefully minus!)… the induction date has now been moved up to the 16th!

Looking forward to meeting little “Clyde"…

(Clydesdale) ;)

"Ready, Aye, Ready" was a slogan used by Canadian politicians to indicate Canada's willingness to assist the British Empire in any conflict. It remains in use as a motto for some of the Canadian military. It has almost nothing to do with the content of this blog.
