While browsing Amazon recently, I found a Barbara Hambly book I'd previously been unaware of called "Fendragon". Being a major Hambly fan, I ordered it in excitement and it finally turned up today. Yay!

I have really got to start reading Amazon descriptions with the same cynicism I hold for eBay auctions.

The book is indeed by Barbara Hambly. It's not one of those anthology or co-written works. It is indeed called "Fendragon". Unfortunately for me, I completely skipped the line in the description referring to the published language. It is in fact a very nice French language version of "Dragonsbane." I thoroughly enjoyed it when originally published in English but don't really feel the need to read it all over again. Perhaps it would be good practice to read as I've pretty much lost all of my French having lived in Alberta for years but I'm not sure I can be bothered.

And, since Amazon weren't the ones who screwed up, I can't even return it. Sniff.

"Ready, Aye, Ready" was a slogan used by Canadian politicians to indicate Canada's willingness to assist the British Empire in any conflict. It remains in use as a motto for some of the Canadian military. It has almost nothing to do with the content of this blog.
