Occasionally science reaches new heights; it attains unexpected successes; it moves forwards human knowledge, not merely by a step, but by a mile. This isn't one of those things. On the other hand, a big woohoo for operant conditioning and pop culture! more »

A car programme for those who don't like car programmes

10/22/06 | by Adam | Categories: Silly, YouTube
When I lived in the UK, "Top Gear" was a very traditional motoring show. They reviewed new cars, discussed their mechanical systems, looked at motorsports, and ended up being extremely boring. Take, for example, this review of the Sierra Cosworth from… more »

Referrer searches

10/19/06 | by Adam | Categories: Technology, Silly
The Nimblebrain blog logs referrer details, including the search string used to get here. Usually they're pretty mundane ("nimblebrain", "ritchie blog") but sometimes they're just odd. Some examples, in no particular order or importance: alternative… more »

Internet culture beats Hollywood

08/29/06 | by Adam | Categories: Technology, Silly
This was quite funny. My mother who isn't a technology follower by any means was reading a recent copy of the Globe & Mail which advertised a charity appearance by Matt Damon. In the picture it looks like he's with a group of African children. She… more »
